GUAFFEN, Rhaeto-Romanic for thing or tool is a brake piston service tool. It allows each individual brake piston to be cleaned and lubricated without removing it.
Currently Available for Shimano 2 and 4- piston brakes and for the Hayes Dominion A4 brake.
Instructions: The brake must be completely bled. Push all brake pistons into the holes and then remove the pads. Decide which piston you want to clean first and place the tool accordingly. Then secure the GUAFFEN with the locking pin. Pump the master cylinder until the piston is in contact with the tool. Start cleaning. Use only the brake oil recommended by the manufacturer to lubricate the pistons.
